System Requirements

Web Server

To host Tribiq CMS, your server must have the following:

  • Apache Web Server
  • MySQL version 5.0 or later
  • PHP version 5.2 or later

Tribiq CMS also requires the GD, libCurl, libJPEG and libPNG libraries, and multibyte support. You may need to enable these by editing your php.ini file.

Apache mod_rewrite support is highly recommended for Image/Script/Stylesheet Caching and Compression, and for Search Engine friendly URLs. However the CMS will still function without these.

Administration

In Administration Mode, Tribiq CMS will run on:

  • Windows with Chrome (stable channel)
  • Windows with Firefox (release update channel)
  • Windows with Internet Explorer 9
  • Windows with Internet Explorer 8
  • Windows with Internet Explorer 7*
  • Windows with Safari 5+
  • Mac OSX with Chrome (stable channel)
  • Mac OSX with Firefox (release update channel)
  • Mac OSX with Safari 5+

We test on all of the above platforms. Tribiq CMS may run on other operating systems and browsers, but is not tested.

You must have JavaScript and cookies enabled in your browser. (Java is not required.)

We also recommend that you have support for Flash, but this is not a requirement.

*For Windows with Internet Explorer 7, performance will not be as fast as with IE 8 or 9, or other browsers. Support for Internet Explorer 6 is discontinued from 6.0.4 onwards.

Visitors

Tribiq CMS sites will work with all modern, standards-compliant web browsers from Internet Explorer 7 onwards. However, this is dependent on how the web designer develops CSS and Frameworks for the site, and if compatibility with yet older browsers is required, this should be possible with careful design.

Hi there

Do you see this screen when you first navigate to the CMS, or did you get to a certain point in the installer before seeing this screen?

You say that you're using localhost - does that mean you've got your server running on your own machine? If so, may I ask what server software you're running - and is it one of the standard AMP (Apache/MySQL/PHP) "stacks"?

From what you've told us I've not got much to go on, but I could take a guess at what may be wrong.

The Admin interface and the Installer of the CMS uses an AJAX interface. It's possible that your server allows you to navigate to a page, but then an prevents that AJAX requests from working.

This can be caused by a mistake in a mod_rewrite rule in your Apache config file or a .htaccess file. Alternately it could be caused by a misconfigured Apache module (e.g. mod_security) blocking the request.

Was any of that any help? Could you give us any more information?
