How to create Documents

Overview

Tribiq CMS allows you to manage any kind of file as a Document Content Item.

File types can include Microsoft® Word® Documents (.doc), Powerpoint® Presentation (.ppt), Excel® files (.xls), PDF, ZIP files, TXT files and almost all other file types.

A Document Content Item consists of the file itself, plus the usual Content Item information, such as Title, Description, Keywords, Summary; Documents can also be Categorized and password-protected like other Content Types.

Whenever you want to offer a downloadable file to your visitors, you need to create a Document Content Item for that file.

How can I create a Document?

1. Log in as an Admin and go to the Storekeeper.

2. Go to "Content" on the left menu. Double click the Document/File icon.

If your website has multiple languages installed, you will see your enabled Languages. Double-click the one you require.

3. In the Actions toolbar, click the "Create a Content Item" button.

4. Add the Title, Description and Keywords of your Document.

5. Go to the File tab and click the "Select a File" button.

6. Click the "Upload one or multiple files to the Dropbox" button and proceed to select the Document.

7. Click the "Choose" button.

7. Click the "Save" button. The Document Content Item will be created.

8. View your Document by clicking the "View Content" button on the toolbar.

The Document will open in the parent window ready for you review and publish.

I tried uploading a PDF to the dropbox and nothing seems to be happening. I see a progress bar as it attemps to upload it, but it doesn't appear.

The file is 4MB and I wondered if it was considered too large, but I am not gettingĀ a message to that effect. Also I have set the file size limits that I can see in the Administration/Settings area to larger than 4mb, but to no effect.

Any advice gratefully received.
