The use of Categories in your website allows you to group items based on a criteria.
1. In the Storekeeper, go to Content > Categories on the left menu.
2. Click the "Create Category" button from the Actions toolbar.

3. In the "Creating a Category" window, type the name of the new Category.

4. Click the "Save" button.
You can assign a Content Item to one or more Categories by going into the Settings for a Content Item, or by using Storekeeper.
Setting Categories while viewing a Content Item
1. In Admin mode, go to your Content Item (HTML page, Document, Picture, etc.).
If your Content Item has no Categories defined, the Admin Toolbar Categories button will appear greyed-out, like this: ![]()
2. In the Admin Toolbar, click the "Content Items Settings" button.

3. In the floating admin panel, click on the "Categories" tab and then click the "Edit" button. Select the checkbox(es) of the Category or Categories for that Content Item.

In some editions of Tribiq CMS the Categories may be shown in a hierarchy.
4. Click the "Save" button.
Your Content Item has now been assigned to the Categories you selected.
The Admin Toolbar Categories button should now be active, it should look like this: ![]()
Setting Categories while in Storekeeper
1. Go to the Storekeeper, and click on Content on the left menu.
Click once on the Content Item that you wish to add a Category to.
2. With the Content Item selected, some action buttons will appear in the Selected toolbar near the top of the window. Click the "Settings" button.

3. In the floating admin panel, go to the "Categories" tab. Click the "Edit" button. Select the Category or Categories for that Content Item.

4. Click the "Save" button.
Your Content Item has now been assigned to the Categories you selected.
Note that you will need to Publish the Content Item in order for the changes to take effect.
