Content Libraries
Overview
Tribiq CMS can support a content library. This is a large collection of content, which may include HTML pages, Documents, Videos and other media.
You would typically create a content library when your site's content extends to hundreds or thousands of Content Items.
A content library is a collection of Content Items which have the following characterstics:
-
When displayed, they have a breadcrumb trail leading from the home page to them
-
They are typically not visible in normal menu navigation
-
They can be found using search
-
They can be of any of the following Content Types: HTML, Document, Audio, Video, Picture, News and Events
You should most commonly create a content library once the number of Content Items in the site exceeds one hundred. An example of a content library is a picture gallery. In this example, the content would be of only one type but a library may contain Content Items from any of the available Content Types. A content library allows better navigation for your visitors and improves the managability of the content for the Administrator.
How do I create a content library?
A content library is not a singular function of the CMS, but rather a collection of functionalities used together to provide a solution. This is a common practice that demonstrates the flexibility of the CMS.
The following steps describe how to create a content library:
-
Create your Categories. Ideally put them in a hierarchy; Tribiq CMS Pro Business supports hierarchical Categories.
-
Add your Content Items, assign each Item to one or more Categories.
-
Create your library's menu tree, setting the visibility of those Menu Items you do not wish to see to "invisible". Note that any Menu Items beneath an invisible Menu Item need not have their visibility set to "invisible" because the menu tree generator will have stopped at their invisible parent
-
Link each Menu Item to the relevant Content Item
-
On each Content Item that is acting as a Category "landing" page, add a Content List or Gallery Plugin and set the Category setting of the Plugin to correspond with the desired Category of the "landing" page
