Multiple Content Types
TRIBiQ CMS is more than just an online web site editor: it is aware of multiple types of content, and it handles them in appropriate ways. This makes your website more streamlined, more accessible - and more manageable.
Centralised content management
All content is managed in a consistent way under TRIBiQ CMS, but each type of content behaves differently.
Every content type has standard data fields, such as a language code, a title, META data (keywords and descriptions). Plus there are administrative settings, such as which template to display it in, and whether that item is "private" (for Extranet access only). TRIBiQ CMS supports a variety of types and thus will handle each of them in a different way.
Current Content Types - more added with each new version!
- HTML web pages
In TRIBiQ CMS, a HTML web page provides users with a default page to enter Text, Image and other content. For example, this page is classed as a HTML content type. HTML web pages can have friendly URL's, so if another site is linking to yours, you can have your own keywords forming part of your page's URL.
- Documents
The Document content type managed files which can be downloaded (e.g. PDF, Word, Excel, Zip - in fact any file format). You can build Document Lists easily.
- News
News is stored with plain text (the article itself) plus an optional summary, a release date and an image. You can build News Lists (and eventually RSS feeds - although you can hire us or any other PHP developer to integrate this now).
- Forums
Forums are known to TRIBiQ CMS as a Content-Type, allowing you to control and administer Forum pages with just as much ease as all your other pages.
- Newsletter Archive
With the Extranet Newsletter Module, TRIBiQ CMS can also automatically publish your emailed newsletters as HTML content items on your website. You can also restrict access to these archives - only accessibile by the members of the mailing list it was originally sent to for example.
- Extranet
Allowing the Extranet to be defined as a Content Item alows you to create multiple signup policies for different site visitors, and you can process their registration in a variety of ways.
Adding new content types
For many customers, the core content types are completely adequate for the web site.
However, there are situations where the standard behaviour of an existing content type needs to be modified, or perhaps, a new content type is required altogether.
In a situation like this, local object classes of the software can be added to override the core object behavior, or alternatively new ones can be created altogether. Tribal Internet can be commissioned to take on a task such as this and rapidly develop new content types to meet your specification.
