How to access your email with Tribiq OnDemand

Tribiq OnDemand supports the following:

  • POP3 for incoming mail
  • Secure IMAP for incoming mail
  • SMTP for outgoing mail
  • Webmail
  • Virtual Mail Manager control panel
  • Anti-spam measures

This page explains how to set up your email client (e.g. Outlook, Apple Mail etc.).

How to set up POP3 for incoming mail

With POP3, a single copy of each email exists. When you download it from the server to your PC using POP3, the copy on the server is moved to your PC (i.e. it is deleted from the server).

You should configure your email client as follows:

POP3 server: mail.tribiq.net
Username: [your full email address]
Password: [your email account password]

How to set up Secure IMAP for incoming mail

We support Secure IMAP but not regular IMAP. With IMAP, your email exists on the mail server, and you see a view of it on your email client. When you delete it, both the server copy and your local copy are deleted.

IMAP is useful when you may be using different PC's to access your email.

You should configure your email client as follows:

IMAP server: mail.tribiq.net
Username: [your full email address]
Password: [your email account password]
Advanced settings: please ensure you go to Advanced Settings and specify "use SSL"

How to set up SMTP for outgoing mail

You can probably use your ISP to handle your outgoing mail. Customers may alternatively use our OnDemand SMTP service.

Simple SMTP Setup

You should configure your email client with outgoing SMTP settings as follows:

SMTP server: mail.tribiq.net
Authentication type: Password
Username: [your full email address]
Password: [your email account password]

More Secure SMTP Setup

For better security you can go to Advanced Settings and specify "use SSL".

How to use Webmail

Webmail is available at http://tribiq.net/webmail.

You will need to enter your email address and password.

How to access the Virtual Mail Manager control panel

If you are an Email Admisistrator for your site, you will be able to edit the email settings via the Virtual Mail Manager, here.

The Virtual Mail Manager will enable you to create and delete accounts, change password, manage forwarding and catch-all settings.

Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus

We filter incoming mail for spam and viruses.

There are no user-modifiable settings for this system.
