You may have a page on your site from which you want to make a duplicate.
Alternatively, you may have a page which you want to translate into a different language.
This How-To shows you how to use the Duplicate Content Item button.
If you want to duplicate a Content Item and use the newly-create copy in the same language, follow this procedure.
1. Locate the Content Item you wish to duplicate. You can navigate to the in the front-end or select it in Storekeeper.
2. Click the Duplicate Content Item button:

3. This will launch a floating admin panel.
In the panel, enter a new title and other details for the new Item. These will be pre-populated with the original values, but you can change them.

For an HTML Content Item, you will need to alter the Alias so as to ensure it is unique (otherwise the CMS will return an error).
4. If the original Content Item is in the menu tree, and the CMS is able to "guess" the new menu location, the Copy Menu Item option will be available.
Set the Copy Menu Item selector to Yes if you want to copy the menu item.
5. If the Copy Menu Item selector is not available, you will have to return to the item later to put the new Content Item into the menu.
6. Press the Save button. Your new Content Item will be created in Draft form.
If you want to copy an Item and then translate it into a different language, you should follow the above procedure until Step 5.
Then do as follows:
1. In the selector for the new Content Item's Language, choose the required language.
(The selector will only show Languages which are installed and enabled. See the How-To on Languages if you do not see the Language you require.)
You will see a screen like this:

2. By default, the Create an Equivalence checkbox will be checked.
You should leave this checked if you want to maintain a Content Equivalence relationship between the two pages.
(You can have a Content Equivalence Chain going across the "same" Content Item of two or more languages.)
3. If you wish, you can change the Title, Alias and other settings.
4. Press the Save button.
5. Your new Content Item will be created in the language you selected, with content and other settings copied from the original.
You should now edit the new Content Item to translate it to the new Language.
6. You may wish to Export the content of the new Item for translation outside of the CMS. See the section on Languages for information on how to do this.
